  • Create or buy a planning notebook
  • Set a date that works for you and your family
  • Decide on a budget
  • Meet with an event planner for overview, ideas, and bids
  • Create a list of potential padrinos and attendants
  • Decide on the number of guests you will invite
  • Look through magazines, catalogs, and websites (don’t forget Uniquely Quince and UniquelyQuince.com) for ideas
  • Talk with any vendors you will be hiring for the party. Some vendors you may want to use are photographer, videographer and florist. Also decide on party site and caterer 
  • Contact your priest/church to determine parish requirements and to book a date
  • Choose a theme for the party
11 Months
  • Meet with potential caterers for tastings
  • Visit potential party sites
  • Contact padrinos to go over budget
  • Confirm attendants
10 Months
  • Reserve the reception location
  • Decide on and book a caterer
  • Decide on the cake. The caterer may supply the cake, or you may want the cake reserved through someone else.
  • Book any and all music services. Hire the musician for the church if one is not already provided. You may want different music for the dinner and dancing, for example, a pianist for the dinner and DJ or band for the dance.
  • Book a photographer and videographer. Be sure to go over a list of shots you would like, this will keep the memories alive forever!
  • Book the florist
  • Select and order invitations
  • Meet with your attendants, as a group, to talk about dress ideas and assignments
9 Months
  • Mail Save-The-Date announcements to guests
  • Order your gown
  • Order your attendant dresses
  • Order your tiara, gloves, shoes and any other accessories
  • Buy decorations to match your theme
6 Months
  • Order your Quinceañera doll
  • Order your bible
  • Determine a site for the rehearsal dinner
  • Order attendant tuxedos
  • Order Quinceañera programs with padrino information and event details
3 Months
  • Make hair and make-up appointments at your favorite salon. Don’t forget to include practice appointments so you are sure of the look you want!
  • Finalize a guest list and verify addresses
  • Print padrinos list
  • Select and buy attendant gifts, as well as any other gifts for parents, padrinos, guests…
  • Address invitations
2 Months
  • Mail invitations
  • Start and keep track of RSVP list
  • Make song lists…for church ceremony, dinner music, and dance music
1 Month
  • Begin taking notes on your toasts and thank you speeches
  • Receive final gown fitting
  • Make sure attendants receive their final fittings on dresses and tuxedos
  • Pick up programs
  • Confirm all floral delivery times
  • Confirm details with the florist, caterer (as well as cake, if using a different vendor), photographer and videographer, limo driver and/or any other transportation needed
  • Confirm church service details with priest, including music and readings
  • Mail rehearsal dinner invitations
  • Have your Quinceañera portrait taken
3 Weeks
  • Prepare and send newspaper announcement information. Include a copy of your portrait.
  • Pick up your gown
  • Have your hair and make-up practice appointment
2 Weeks
  • Contact any guests who have not yet responded
  • Update your RSVP list
  • Confirm tuxedo pick-up
  • Pick up attendant gowns
1 Week
  • Make any hair color touch-ups
  • Create a list of payments needed to be made on the quinceañera day
  • and decide who will give the payments to any vendors
  • Finalize all guest lists and counts
  • Create a seating chart
  • Confirm counts for caterers
  • Prepare an emergency kit
  • Have a final attendant meeting
  • Receive confession
  • Write presentation program for party emcee/DJ
  • Finalize toasts and thank you speeches
1 Day
  • Pick up tuxedos
  • Prepare payment envelopes for any and all vendors and give to previously assigned person to handle
  • Review emergency kit
  • Rehearsal and Rehearsal dinner
Day Of
  • Eat a good breakfast
  • Go to your hair and make-up appointments that morning
  • Relax and enjoy your day!
Day After
  • Confirm any cleanup (if needed)
  • Be sure all tuxedos are returned, get help if needed
1 Week After
  • Send out thank you notes
  • Follow up with photographer and videographer for final delivery
  • Take your gown to a dry cleaner who specializes in gown preservation
